NetSuite Takes Its Manufacturing Game to a New Level with New IQity Features

Until recently, NetSuite was not considered the best option for manufacturing companies.

That all changed earlier this year when NetSuite acquired IQity software’s cloud business, adding critical functionality to support manufacturing planning and scheduling, process manufacturing, and quality operations. The new Advanced Manufacturing solution also provides:

  • Valuable mobile tools
  • Manufacturing execution system (MES) support
  • Manufacturing operations management (MOM) support

The new features, as developed by IQity, allow manufacturing organizations to focus on cost, quality, service, and throughput. The Advanced Manufacturing solution does this by extending the NetSuite ERP in six areas:

  • Mobilized
  • Discrete and batch manufacturing
  • Supply chain
  • Planning and scheduling
  • MES and MOM
  • Quality

Until recently, NetSuite was not considered the best option for manufacturing companies. That all changed earlier this year when NetSuite acquired IQity software’s cloud business, adding critical functionality A recent report by Technology Evaluation Center describes the new NetSuite features and their benefits for manufacturers, including:

Mobilized: Mobility plays a key role in automating manufacturing operations, with tablets used more and more. IQity developed a tablet application specifically for manufacturers to help collect critical shop floor information.

Discrete and batch manufacturing: Core manufacturing capabilities were added to the system to streamline functionality for both discrete and batch (process) manufacturing.

Supply Chain: A combination of the new manufacturing capabilities and better management of all manufacturing operations allows users to better see how the product is moving inside and outside the company.

Planning and Scheduling: Users will now have a solid finite scheduling engine, as well as tools to help plan and run the schedules. The combined tools help organizations to better balance equipment, labor, and material resources, and tie these to demand signals.

MES and MOM: The tablet tools, barcode scanning, and an open adaptive planning intelligence (API) all bring more MES capabilities to the solution so that organizations get better visibility and insight into operations.

Quality: Harnessing quality data and being able to use the data is extremely important. Advanced Manufacturing’s new tools allow tracking of quality data such as mean time to failure (MTF), scrap-rates and re-work, among other things.

If you have wanted an integrated, user-friendly, cloud-based system such as NetSuite for your manufacturing operation but needed capabilities that NetSuite didn’t have, now is the time to look at NetSuite’s Advanced Manufacturing capabilities.
