In less than a year (by September 2017), companies in the food industry with fewer than 500 employees will be required to be in full compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Companies with less than $1 million in annual sales of human food have until September 2018.

A recent survey by the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) assessed overall readiness and specific concerns for 47 stakeholders, specifically examining the challenges they see.
